Hey y'all, welcome back to the God-centered mom podcast with me, Heather McFadden.

This is episode 177 where I'm inviting my friend Erin Odom to be brave and share her

story of a financial crisis her family has walked through and provide hope for the

gal who may be walking through one right now.

We saw God begin to turn our situation around really it was during that whole four year process

that it really accumulated in the bankruptcy.

God wanted us to trust him and all things that he was our great provider and that we really

had pride that needed to be humbled and that when we humble ourselves inside the Lord

he will lift us up and that he gives grace to the humble.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been told there's a few topics you avoid at dinner

parties, religion, finances, well we're going to hit on a touchy subject.

Talking about finances, talking about poverty, talking about bankruptcy and Erin Odom is

going first.

Erin doesn't just go first she reminds us that we can't make assumptions about someone's

financial situation based on how they look.

Sometimes we can make judgments, sometimes we can make wrong judgments about our own financial

situation and think we're worse off than we really truly are if we look at the global

economy.

Sometimes we can actually in Erin's case she thought they were better off than they actually

were and it was a really humbling moment to ask for help.

I love at the end of this episode the example of God's grace over our spiritual bankruptcy

as Erin experienced a judge forgiving her financial debts.
