Joshua chapter 8, verse 1, and the Lord said to Joshua, do not fear and do not be dismayed.

Take all the fighting men with you and arise. Go up to AI.

See, I have given into your hand the king of AI and his people, his city,

and his land. If you remember Joshua 7, because of Aiken's sin, the people of God were

defeated at AI. When they tried to go to battle in that particular place, they lost.

Why?

Because they had sinned against God, and God was not with them.

God had not promised to give them that land.

But now, as a result of what happened in the last part of Joshua 7 and judgment toward

Aiken and his sin, God says to Joshua, now, same place, you're going to,

don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed. I will give it into your hands. And the lesson is crystal clear

when you put Joshua 7 and Joshua 8, 1 together. When God is not for you, then you have no hope. But when God is for you, then you

have all hope. That's just simple, significant truth that we see echoed throughout all the Bible.

If God is not for you, you have no hope. If God is for you, you have all hope. So put your hope in God,

trust in God, seek God, honor God, glorify God. This is your hope in this life. Nothing else.

You can face whatever this world throws at you. and when God is with you and for you,

you have no reason to fear. This is Romans chapter 8. It's the gospel of God is for us. Who can be

against us? He would not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all. Will He not also along with

him graciously give us all things?

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It's God who justifies. Who is He that? He condemns Christ Jesus, who died. More than that, who has raised to life. He's at the right hand of God interceding for us. This is the gospel for all who trusted in Jesus. You are a child of God. Jesus at the Father's right hand right now interceding for you and nothing can separate you from his love. That's the end of Romans 8.
