Thank you for listening to this message from Damon Thompson Ministries. I was thinking back through some of the different expressions we've had in worship and one of the great shifts that took place in the church probably in the last 15 or so years

was to put our attention solely on Jesus.

There was a season not too long ago predates most of us but where people didn't even sing to Jesus

sang about him but they didn't think it was appropriate to sing to him.

Now we find ourselves in this migration where we've so placed him in the

center of attention that his patience with reciprocating. I can see him like you've made me the center of attention now I'm about to make you

the center of attention one of those is far more comfortable than the other. But I believe beloved identity has been

equipping our hearts to become the focus of his affection, the center of his attention and even in a moment where we would begin to

pour our hearts out to him you saw the shift begin to take place and he

began to talk about what you meant to him. And what happens is that brings, I believe, a measure of healing to your internal world

so that you can more fully give yourself to him being the center of your attention

and then he reciprocates again and then we get caught in this cycle of mutual

adoration.

To think how far we've come when religion wouldn't even let us

sing to Jesus. Now we're hearing him sing over us. What a shift. What a shift. May you become

comfortable in the very uncomfortable world of being the center of his attention.

Yawe, let your loving eyes gaze at us until we lose that tendency to wiggle.

To try to shift the focus or change the subject. You have no interest in changing the subject.

You're coming after us with a ferocious love,

with a violent love, with a violent love,

holy love that will not stop at us being in the periphery.

You're moving us to the center of your affection, your attention.
