Summary

Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.

This week is an extremely special episode - it’s a crossover with another podcast - the MIGHTY GUILTY FEMINIST! I KNOOOOWWWWWW. So this one-off podcast is actually called ‘The Hungry Feminist’. We recorded it live infront of a full house in the huge space at Kings Place in Kings Cross, London. And my GOD did we have a hoot. You’re going to love this. Pretty cocky about that you know, right from the off.

Everything written below in CAPITALS is a link to the relevant webpage.

Welcome to Hoovering, the podcast about eating. I'm Jessica Bostigue. I love eating as much as

0:25.3

anything else in the world, but also it sometimes brings me conflict, shame and all sorts of other

0:31.6

things that are rubbish. It's complicated and I think fascinating. This is a conversation with an interesting soul,

0:39.4

not just about food, but about gobbling it up, or if you will, hoovering.

0:46.9

Hello, wonderfuls. Now listen, this is about as special as an episode can bloody well get

0:52.4

because it is a mighty great big mega busting

0:55.8

mash-up special with none other than the Wonder Beast podcast that is The Guilty Feminist.

1:03.0

I know.

1:04.0

So this is a one-off podcast.

1:05.9

It's actually called The Hungry Feminist.

1:08.4

We recorded it live in front of a full house at a huge space at the King's Place,

1:12.9

which is in Kings Cross, London, me and a guilty feminist host, Deborah Francis White, shared

1:18.3

the hosting. We were both the boss. And as a guest, we spoke to a therapist and anti-diet guru,

1:25.8

intuitive eating specialist Davinia Null, who was incredible, as you'll hear.

1:30.8

Everything else gets explained in the show, really. So the only thing I'm going to mention

1:34.3

before we get into it is that you've got one more week to snap up a ticket for the next hoovering live.

1:39.6

It's in Manchester on the 13th of October. It's a Sunday. It's 2 to 4 in the afternoon. It's

1:43.9

going to be kick-ass. My guests are just one of my favourite human beings, comedian Amy Gledhill, and writer and ex-chumber star, Alice Nutter, and one more superstar to be confirmed soon. Sadly, the poet Jackie Kay has had to drop out for very good reasons. But you should come, come, come. We are going to start

2:02.0

this extra special, hungry feminist special with jokes that the guilty feminist podcast would

2:08.0

start with, which are admissions that start with the line, I'm a feminist but, but as you're

2:13.7

hear, they're on a very eaty theme for this one. I'm a feminist, but I cook for my white middle-class cisgendered sexist son
