I believe in a world where every person has a purpose to their life,

When I started my show, my first question was, who is going to listen to me? Why would 81 want to

listen to me? What do I have to offer? Imposter syndrome was vivid. It was real. It was in my face. Then I leaned in

on my purpose. But let me show you instead. Close your eyes. Let me tell you a story. When I was 19,

I knew with absolute clarity what my purpose was. I knew exactly the direction my life was going,

and everything was aligning with every step towards my purpose.

As a preacher's kid, I felt the calling and had developed the skills and the talents to the point where I was running our church youth group, leading worship, coordinating multi-church youth events, and even preaching sometimes when my dad was out sick.

Everyone in our world could see it.

Comments like, chip off the old block.

Following your dad's footsteps were everyday kind of comments, from friends, from family,

from congregants, from our community members.

The problem, I could do it well, but I wanted nothing to do with it.
