If you didn't bring a Bible with you, hold up your hand real high.

We'd be glad to let you use one of ours.

And let's turn to two openings.

Let's go to 1st Samuel, the second chapter, and then Romans, the 13th chapter.

1st Samuel, chapter 2, and Romans 13. Are you believing with me this morning?

You know, utterance is not all up to the preacher. It's greatly affected by the hearer.

And so let's believe God together and hear not from me, hear from him.

And let's get some answers and direction.

You know, we ought never have a service that was for nothing.

Every time we ought to come away with more and be changed and be increased and blessed.

We, for some weeks, have been on the subject of a series we're calling honor to whom honor.

And our main text are here in these two openings.

First Samuel two, we see that Eli and his sons were the priests, the ministers, in the house

of God.

But his sons in particular, the Bible said they were sons of Belial.

They were evil people, and yet they're preachers.

And they were having affairs, and they were maltreating and abusing the people, and they

were stealing the offerings, and the Lord warned him to do something about his boys, and he

didn't do anything, and now judgment has come.

And in 1st Samuel 2 and uh what is it verse 29 he told him he said you have honored your sons above me now we ought to love our family

but we ought not love them more than God.
