because I have the opportunity to have a really detailed chat

with Dr Thomas D. Seeley.

He's the Horace White Professor in Biology at Cornell.

He's in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior,

teaches about animal behavior,

but his research is really focused on the behavior and social life of honey bees.

He's written several books and he's won a ton of awards.

I didn't even realize this when we spoke, but he received the Alexander von Humboldt Distinguished US Scientist Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a gold medal book award,

and he's also been elected a fellow of both the Animal Behavior Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences,

but he's most proud of having had a species of bee named after him. Yeah, that is like a huge honor. His newest book is called
