Hello everyone and welcome back to Park Court convos. I'm Maddie Mitchell and I'm your host today and always because well quite frankly this is literally my podcast so who else is going to host it? Happy freaking Monday and happy freaking June 24th. I cannot

believe it is the last week of June that's feeling kind of disturbing. That also

means that we are technically like halfway through the year and that as always is feeling really, really deeply unsettling to me, so I'm not going to

really ruminate on that for too long. I'm going to move past it. Today's episode,

we're talking about hometown drama, small town drama, neighborhood slash town

Facebook page drama because that's where that is truly where like the crazies lie and I think there's something

about a false sense of security when you're in a town Facebook page because you're like

okay it's just the people that live in my town for the

most parts, like that's good and like I mean I'm talking about like for the people

that are kind of crazy like I think they feel a false sense of security

plus they feel emboldened by the fact that they are sitting at home and like this is a Facebook group and so there's something about that combo that becomes absolutely lethal in terms of just the levels of insanity and like brazenness.

I don't know, I feel like as time goes on and technology progresses,

people care less about hiding their insanity

in a way that is obviously nothing shy of entertaining,

but also like when you really think about it,

like what, like where are we headed? Where where does this end do you know what I mean

but we don't have we don't have to mull that over for too long.

Also something about small towns I was trying to think about this because it was like, why is small town drama like so inherently juicy?

And I think it's just because everyone knows everyone, right?

And so there's this sense of like when there is drama in a small town everyone knows about it whereas obviously in like

bigger cities that's not the case because I guess something happens amongst your

friends like really only that group of people would know about it because people are, you know, more of like a little fish in a big pond versus being just all regular fish in a regular size pond.
