0:48.8	parable about a homecoming and the brilliance of this parable is lost on most of us
0:56.0	because we've heard it so many times.
0:58.0	It's iconic.
0:59.0	People who weren't even raised in church
1:01.0	have language around this parableable as is the case with several of
1:05.2	Jesus parables and because it's so brilliant excuse me because it's so familiar we lose sight of how amazing it really is and
1:15.2	what makes this parable so amazing and this is true of several of Jesus
1:17.8	parables but maybe this and two or three others more than the rest of them
1:21.2	what makes it so amazing is that we are all included in it.
1:27.1	We're all in it.
1:27.7	And like a good movie or a good book,
1:29.8	you'll be tempted and I'm tempted to try to identify
1:32.4	with the hero in the parable.
1:34.3	So let me just, you know, level a playing field.
