In the fatal friendship episode a couple weeks back, I read a story from Ryan, who was a former

demonologist.

I asked him why he no longer was one, and this was his response.

You asked that I'd email you in response to my story about being a demonologist.

I retired because I was diagnosed with cancer, and I believe it was directly related to doing exorcisms.

When doing them, you give a part of your light to that person to help them.

And it felt like my light came from my stomach. After doing demonology for almost 10 years, I started having stomach issues and found that it was cancer.

I was forced to retire after my last case of a teenager turning into a werewolf.

I still review cases and help when I can, but I don't perform anymore.
