Hello everybody, it's your wet bandit bruiser, Holden McNeely.

And this week, we're talking about what is actually, on paper, statistically, the greatest Christmas movie ever made.

I cannot wait.

I guess I can wait, or I don't have to wait, because we're here.

I get to finally talk about this movie.

I love Home Alone.

Can we just start with that?

Let's start with the personal for a little bit.

I'm going to be talking about personal shit all throughout this episode though because I

remember vividly seeing this movie for the first time with like my family in the theater. I remember immediately

connecting to Kevin McAllister. I remember and, and also like I think at the exact same time I was like

super into Calvin and Hobbs. And here is again, this like blonde, wisecracking, rebellious kid that

sort of had similar ties in certain ways.

And, you know, just the whole format of it was just so perfect for children.

I think everything, it had all these things that were great for adults, this kind of some

dirtyish moments, a really fun, connective, like, family holiday bullshit, like, that you also get with, like, Christmas vacation. Christmas story. National End Poon's Christmas vacation, I should say. Christmas story, exactly, right? Like, we're, oh, we all deal with this. But, like, the tricks and traps at the end, having it be like, oh, man, you know basically the premise is that like,

these guys are going to try to come in and this kid is going to like mouse trap them to death.

But, but like the build up to that and then having it go down in the most like entertaining

over the top, like in terms of physical comedy too, just the notch was turned up us in a certain way on this

movie like the falls were just fallier the the thumps were thumpier everything just like popped

...
