Hello and welcome to the Truth Seekers podcast.

search for truth each week in the stories of the Bible.

As we continue to walk through the days of Holy Week, we come to the day that Jesus and

his disciples began to prepare for the Passover meal.

Now you might want to go back and listen to

episode 20 because episode 20 is where we learned about the Passover in Exodus when

God passed over the homes of the Israelites who had placed the blood of a pure

spotless lamb on their doorposts.

The blood on the outside of their doors kept them from experiencing the final plague upon the

Egyptians. When God saw the blood on their doorpost, he passed over their homes and they were spared. This is why it is called

Passover. God instructed the Israelites to take time every year to remember and celebrate when God

passed over their homes and delivered them from Egypt.

So every year, for hundreds and hundreds of years,

the Israelites would remember Passover with a special Passover meal.

They would sacrifice a pure, spotless lamb and eat the meat of the lamb

to remember what God had done for them that night so long

ago in Egypt.

Well, now it was time for Jesus and the disciples to celebrate the Passover.
