Summary

During the rule of the Seleucid Empire in the centuries before Christ's birth, many men and women of great faith arose who were unwilling to renounce their faith in God, despite the threat of martyrdom. martyrs. Thank you. This is a wonderful story. And let's dive in. Yeah. So I think I'm going

to get a reputation for talking about martyrs and English and Irish. Those will see, but

your favorite. But yes, but I do love the story of the Maccabee and Martyrs.

So for those who you're not familiar with the story, it is a biblical story.

It's found in the book of Second Maccabees.

And there's the story of the martyr Elie Azar in chapter 6, and then the martyrdom

of the Seven brothers and their mother in Chapter 7.

Okay. And I guess to give context, so these people are in the book of Maccabees.

that's in first and second Maccabees all pertain to the kind of Maccabian revolt against a ruler called Antigas Epiphanes the Fourth.
