The podcast today comes from the west coast of the United States, from L.A., specifically from Los Angeles, California,

specifically West Hollywood, John, in L.A. I have just spent the morning walking up and down

Sunset Boulevard, looking to find my inner James Dean, which I couldn't find, unfortunately.

Before you go there, what do you think of West Hollywood? Because I remember when I was there

many years ago, I found it incredibly disappointing. It's like a sort of a swanky version of the

Long Mile Road. Exactly. Exactly. Right. So it's, that's exactly. If you imagine the long mile road without the machine hire places, and if they had nail bars

and sort of tanning bars instead, now it's interesting you asked me about that because this morning,

I woke up very early, which you do when you're jetlight.

And I was looking around for sunglasses. And I thought, shite, I left them in Ireland. And of course, it's bright here. So I said, OK, what I'll do is I will walk out and I will get myself a pair of sunglasses. Do a rodeo drive. So I walked out onto Santa Monica Boulevard. and I'm staying in a place, John, you'd love it, called the

Sunset Marquis.

It's like a rock and roll tapestry.

It's a homage to lead guitarists to electric guitars to Jimmy Hendrix to Jeff all of them. Yeah, because that's a real rock and roll history place, isn't it? The problem, as I was saying to you before, though, the problem with these rock and roll hotels is that they've strapped their TVs to the wall so you can't chuck them out the window anymore. I know, John, and I was trying last night on my own.

There I was going to rip the thing up.

It's just not the same. And I was going to book it at the window, but you will actually quite as interesting, John. So I checked in here and, of course, it was very, very jetlight. Came up from the flight from Dublin yesterday. and I'll explain to you what I'm doing here and all that sort of stuff.

And I go in and it's, you know, it's a hotel.
