Do you remember studying ants in elementary school or middle school?

Whenever that was?

And it's live almost everywhere.

If so, you may remember that every ant colony has a legion of workers.

Those guys who do all the hard, thankless stuff.

And then there's a queen who's the only one in the colony able to lay eggs.

This makes her the ultimate ruler, the most important ant of all.

But it turns out she's not so special that she can't be imitated.

Did you know that even a regular old caterpillar, an insect that looks nothing like an ant,

can trick all the workers in that colony into thinking she's the queen?

There's a particular kind of caterpillar that is involved to make noises just like the ant queen.

It also releases almost the same odors ants and ants communicate through odor.
