Hi, I'm Holly Saunders. I went from being a network TV anchor to now controlling my entire destiny,

0:06.0

making over six figures a month my way. I'm one of the passionate few. So I really enjoyed my

0:11.6

interview today with Omar. He did his research. He's very well read and he's a really super fucking

0:16.3

cool guy. We had a great time and it felt really comfortable with him and was finally able to

0:20.7

answer some questions that other interviewers have asked that I haven't really wanted to answer. So make sure that you watch till the end because I think you're going to be really surprised at some of the things that I said today. Hey guys, welcome to this episode of The Passionate View. Today we have a special guest as we get to sit down with none other than Holly Saunders. She's done amazing stuff in her

0:37.9

career, but now she's taking it into her own hands, and you're going to hear her epic story. So men and women around the world, be prepared to get inspired. Thanks so much for being on the show today, Holly. Thank you, Omar. I appreciate it very much. Yes, absolutely. So while a lot of people might know a little bit about what you've done on TV, take us back. Where did you grow up? What was your childhood like?

0:34.2

And how did you even get into golf and TV to begin with?

0:37.0

Where did the ball start for you as a kid? So I grew up in a very small town. I will say I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, because people don't know where Marysville, Ohio is. The only claim to fame is that the only Honda of America plant is there. That's where everybody's families worked in high school,

1:11.9

just like a nice factory town. My dad was an optometrist. Everybody knew him. He's an eye doctor.

1:16.5

He made bad jokes. He told people contacts. And it was just a really small town. And I always knew

1:22.5

from a very young age that I would not be like staying there, marrying somebody having kids.

1:26.7

And, you know, just staying in that town. So I, when I was 17, just kind of, I went to Michigan State, played golf. I started playing golf when I was six because my mother did not work. She was a full-time mom. That was her job and took me to the country club with her. And that was kind of it. I was good at it and then that just kind of became my life.

1:46.3

How old were you when you got into golf? I was six years old and won my first tournament when I

1:50.2

was seven and then won my first national tournament when I was 10. So that took up all my time,

1:54.3

all my summers. Every other kid was going to the pool and having a good time I was practicing

1:58.5

golf. So by age 14, I was burnout on it.

2:02.5

But when you're good at something, as you know, everybody expects you to continue playing. Right. You can't stop. Especially when you're young. You don't know anything else. Yeah. And you don't have the balls to stop. What else am I going to do? I don't have a job. I'm not making my own money. so I was good at it. I keep playing.

1:59.5

You know, it was first team all-state a couple of years in a row.

2:02.3

You're the high school hero. have a job. I'm not making my own money. So I was good at it. I keep playing. You know, it was

2:18.2

first team Allstate a couple of years in a row. You're the high school hero. You're on the wall. You think that that's like the epitome of everything. And then I went to Michigan State and played there. We won a Big Ten championship. And that's kind of where it ended for me. I didn't term professional and I said well what do I want to do with my life I want to talk

2:17.3

about sports sports are my entire life so I'm gonna go it ended for me. I didn't turn professional and I said, well, what do I want to do with my life?

2:34.8

I want to talk about sports. Sports are my entire life. So I'm going to go on TV and I'm going to talk about it. And you had no clue how to get on TV at that time? What was your game plan? Yeah, and I have no connections. Again, my father is a small town. You know, eye doctor. My parents and no connections to television.
