If you didn't think the lockdown was over yesterday, you need look no further than the front pages of this morning's newspapers, pictures from the beaches of Bournemouth, Bracklesham Bay,

Hyve, Brighton, Barry and Blackpool. Today, the temperatures are likely to hit 34 in the south-east

of England and the roads will be ever more packed out with people enjoying the sunshine.

Yesterday in London, the streets were filled with drinkers and the parks were rammed with picnickers.

There is simply no lockdown anymore and anyone

who tells you there is is very clearly deluded. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm saying it's a good

thing. But for heaven's sake, why don't we just admit that it's all over and everything is now going

to start coming back to normal pubs are open in all but name. It can only be a matter of time

before the first restaurant tables start appearing on the pavement. I'm not sure it's going to have to be until July

the 4th that we wait for that to happen. Meanwhile, everyone else seems to be booking holidays as well

in an effort to beat the inevitable price rises that will come when the government announces

air bridges and deals with countries like Italy, Spain and Greece. Bookings are up 50% in the last two weeks ahead of the announcement coming on Monday.
