Well guys, it is the fifth year anniversary of the Here We Are podcast.

At the day I'm recording this a few days before

this is being uploaded and you're hearing it.

I am celebrating five years of the show it is amazing that I've

been doing this for five years now I've interviewed over 150 scientists it's been quite an adventure and I am so thankful to have so many

listeners that are interested in this stuff that I find absolutely fascinating you know and I I have

really no business hosting a science podcast it's strange to find myself doing this.

I just wanted to be a comedian my whole life.

I never paid attention in school.

I wasn't that big of a reader.

When I did start comedy and but when I was reading I was always reading science books

I was always watching things like TED Talks and I was when online classes started happening.

I'd check those out in various lectures and I just became more and more obsessed with science

and I had caught some breaks in my career and and been fortunate as a standup

but I I also had a yearning to be talking about bigger ideas and science was where I found a lot of

really satisfying answers and more importantly I was able to ask even bigger questions

about life and I started reaching out to academics some I don't know

seven eight years ago or something like that got to become friends with some academics like like my first guest, Marty Hazleton,

and my good friend Peter McGraw, who's been on the show a couple times,
