I so I'm to get out ahead of everything and say that we're talking

about holiday parties but we are probably going to end up saying Christmas a lot because Theresa

and I were both raised in households that celebrated Christmas and so when we

think about like holidays and the winter holidays we're going to say the word

Christmas a lot but just know that what we mean is holidays. Well I would also

like to put a caveat on this and when I say Christmas I mean

secular Christmas. Like the season, lowercase C. Santa and Rudolph and

Snowman and and you know hot chocolate and candy canes and although a lot of these

started out with religion is the basis most of this stuff has become pretty mainstream secularized.

Well, not only that, but a little bit about, I took one of my college courses was a history class and it was pre-civil war American history.

And the thing is, is like Christmas wasn't always a religious holiday.

I mean, not even going as far back

as like, you know, pagan stuff and like Yule

and the winter solstice and that kind of thing.

But even as you get into like colonial times, it was more of like a party atmosphere.

There was actually a time period of which Christmas was outlawed.

Because it was so fun.
