I just got to talk during my intro, Luke. Okay. I thought we said I was hosting. No, we just agreed that I was because you wanted to admit you said you want the show to be more fun than you should host it.

That's exactly the conversation that just happened. I said, okay, great. And here we are. Oh, frickin. Yeah, Luke, we've got male bags.

And that's what we're going to be flaunting today. Happy Fourth of July. It's Monday, July 3rd. This is pre taped. We like to tell you that upfront in the sports or the space time continuum here.

But you've stumbled upon morning combat. And while your other shows are on vacation observing the fourth, we are putting in the work to answer your friggin questions.

You're looking at BC bright Campbell. One half of this fantastic award winning duo Luke Thomas on the other side, Mikey Morms from CBS sports on the ones in twos.

Luke, what do you have to say about the fourth of July? Is this this all about freedom and America to you or what?

No, it's about where in the city. I'm going to get a view of the fireworks. Okay, that's about it. That's very patriotic of you.

I mean, it's a little bit more than that. But like, you know, I'm not going to do raw raw stuff.

Luke is it fair to say that you you not fought, but you put in time to help defend this great country at some point in your life. That's safe.

I volunteered. Yes, I volunteered. Yes. Well, you took money from it from Uncle Sam. Don't don't try to act like this.

I did. I would not say I would not say a princely some if I could begin. Yes, I got paid.

Did Uncle Sam pay for the College of William and Mary or not? That's the key.

No, no, he did not. So the way it would work is if you want to, okay, I don't know how it is now, but at the time when I enlisted, which was technically 1997,

the way that it worked was you could do a four year deal. All deals are eight year deals, which people don't realize.

You can do four active and then four was called inactive ready reserve. There's lots of different ways you can break it up. But the way I was going to do it was six years active, two years inactive ready reserve where they could call you up for a wartime obligation if they needed to.

And you had to do the six to get any money from college if you were a reservist. So you could not do four and get money. You have to do six. So I did six.

And the way I was able to do that and get money was they give, they would give me just enough money. I think it was 250 a month for the months that I was in school.

So I would pay for some food. It would pay for books, mostly not entirely. It would pay for, you know, living things, but that was really about it. It was 250 a month.
