Exactly three years ago today, on December 28, 2019 dozens of people gathered in the home of Hasidic Rabbi Chaim Rottenberg in Monsey, New York. As Rabbi Rottenberg was lighting a candle on the 7th night of Hanukkah, Grafton Thomas barged into the home with a machete and started to stab and slash at guests.
