Hello and welcome to another episode of Iway with Jimmy Ligemail, a podcast against shame.

0:05.6

I hope you're well and I'm really excited for you to listen to today's episodes. It's one of my

0:11.0

standout all-time faves and an episode I really need it because it's about a subject that I really

0:19.2

don't know about or really understand beyond a kind of cerebral level and I have a strong feeling

0:25.6

that you need this to considering how overwhelming the amount of questions that came in when I

0:31.1

put the word out to you that I was going to do a podcast episode on the subject of grief

0:37.0

and I asked you for your questions and you sent it not just so many questions but so many such

0:42.6

thoughtful thought-provoking questions such deep and profound questions and things that I would

never have thought to have asked and so thank you I should put the word out to you guys more often

and we talk a lot about grief and she obviously understands that as an expert but also as someone

1:41.1

who herself has lost someone and has been on a 13-year journey with that loss so far and had a very

1:47.8

real very intense and not a perfect depiction of what we as a society think grief is supposed to

1:55.4

look like and she's super honest about that very very giving with her own story and and then talks

2:01.3

to me on a kind of fundamental level about what grief is you know I'm quite a disconnected person

2:06.3

we get into that in the episode and so I can't always relate to people I don't know what to do

2:10.7

and so she gives me a lot of advice in this episode about how I can better support other people

2:15.0

which I think is so fucking important to have out there as a resource because a lot of us don't
