Today we actually are going to be in the book of judges.

We're going to talk a little bit about a man named Gideon

and I believe there's some promises in God's word that are for you today.

Somebody say I receive it.

So we're going to start in chapter 6 in verse 1.

If you don't have a Bible, it'll be on the screen for you.

Said the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord.

For seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites.

Because the power of Midian was so oppressive

that Israelites prepared shelters for themselves

in mountain cliffs, caves, and strongholds.

Verse 6, we're going to skip ahead.

Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help.
