Hello, hello, happy Memorial Day. It is Monday, May 30th, 2022. My name is Lisa Page and this is the

Lisa Page made me do it podcast. And while it is Memorial Day and and this

we can't do it podcast. And while it is Memorial Day and people are celebrating today,

maybe you celebrated this weekend, had a barbecue, had friends over,

went to somebody's house, did the pool party thing.

Whatever you did or whatever you're doing

or whatever your plans are later,

it doesn't change the fact that 21 families

are grieving and mourning one of their loved ones.

19 babies, like 19 children, children that are my kids' ages, lost their lives. Children that

children that are my kids ages lost their lives last week.

Yes, a week ago tomorrow was when that shooting happened.

19 children and two teachers and from what I've seen and

read and watched those teachers loved those kids as if they were their own

children and you've all that whole community is mourning,

and they will continue to mourn, and we as a country

are mourning with them.

And it wouldn't be right of me to just kick off this episode and

act as if nothing happened like it's a huge deal and it is awful and I'm with you I'm with you something has to be done

something has got to be done and as far as I'm concerned like things should have started changing after Sandy Hook.

And yet here we all are still talking about it.
