0:40.8	It was told by one Antoine Allou, the man responsible for his murder.

0:47.2	Picad, born François Pierre Picad, had been a shoemaker from Names, France before he was
0:52.3	thrust into life of intrigue and deception.
0:55.7	He had everything going on for him.
0:57.2	He had a good job, the love of a beautiful rich woman named Marguerite Vigaro, and hardly
1:02.5	a care in sight.
1:04.3	By 1807, Pierre had proposed a Vigaro and the two were engaged to be married, but their
1:09.6	happiness was not meant to last.
1:12.5	Matthew Lupain, one of Pierre's friends, was besotted with Vigaro and mad with jealousy.
1:18.3	He wanted her for himself, but rather than let his friend be happy, he fueled that jealousy
1:22.8	into something sinister.
1:24.8	Lupain, with assistance from his compatriots, Solari and Shubar, conspired to take down the
1:30.4	captivated cobbler by any means necessary.
1:33.8	They reported Pierre to the authorities, accusing him of being a spy for England.
