My name is Andrew Downs, and I am joined as I am each and every Thursday night by my good buddy, the president of the Polk County Eye Club, our fearless leader at Hawkeye Nation.com. It is Joe Schmalka. Joe, what's up, ma'am? Oh, so much better mood this week than the last couple three weeks, right? Man. A great weekend. Had a great weekend in Iowa City. It was homecoming. We rented a house with three or four fraternity brothers. And we had a lot of fun, including the game. So it was a good weekend. Very good week. You could just kind of feel the tension lift off of this entire fan base, this entire program,

the coaches, the players with Iowa's 33 to 13 win over Northwestern on home coming last week.

The first time Iowa has all season really looked like a complete football team looked the way that I think, Joe, we thought maybe they would look coming into the season.

You know, that was a quintessential Kirk Farrant's football game.

And Iowa isn't going to score 30 every week,

and you're not going to play a defense as poor as Northwestern every week.

But that was the type of game that I think most Hawkeye fans expected to have several times this season.

And, you know, there's still four games left.

So maybe we'll see repeats of this moving forward.

But, man, just really good from start to finish.

A dominant performance, a beautiful day.

And as you said, just kind of a relaxing win for the Iowa football team.

Yeah, it was really nice.

It's exactly, like you said, what we needed.

Nobody really knew what we could really do,

and I think we finally put it together.

We put it together,, we look good.

We look good finally.

And, yeah, the level of competition was definitely down.
