Andrew Downs here with you on a Thursday afternoon, the 30th anniversary of the death of Chris

Street, the airing of the documentary on the Big Ten Network last night.

If you haven't seen that, I highly recommend it.

I want to talk a little bit about that.

And later on in this episode, I'm going to bring back an interview, a segment, I guess, almost a full hour of radio that

I was a part of, although not as much on the air, with the Murph and Andy show here in

Des Moines, 106.3 KX&O 1460 AM. So the radio station that I work for, and Murph and Andy shows the show that I

produce each and every day with Keith Murphy and Andy Fails. And five years ago today, we had

an incredible hour of radio where Rick Brown from then, I believe still the Des Moines Register.

Now he's with us here at Hawkeye Nation and does a lot of stuff.

He's kind of the Iowa basketball historian and certainly the voice of authority on Chris

Street having written the book Emotion in Motion and having been close with the street

family for a long time now, really having the trust of the street family.

He was a part of

the documentary on the Big Ten Network. He came in studio, as did Wade Looking Bill. Of course,

a teammate of Chris Streets, a guy who you'll hear on the radio station from time to time now

talking Hawkeye basketball and has been on a couple of times over the last week or so

talking about

Chris Street. And then Mike Street, Chris's father, was also in studio with Murph and Andy. It's about

40 minutes. It was on the 25th anniversary. And it was really an incredible way to remember Chris Street.

And so at the end of my portion of this podcast, I'm going to bring that back.
