Not much of an episode this weekend.

We'll, of course, have a more robust roundtable episode after the holiday to catch up on Phillies news and rumors, but today you're just going to be getting a more meandering

series of thoughts from me, largely because it's Thanksgiving weekend and there's not a lot

to report on the Phillies.

Your mind might be more focused on the leftovers in the fridge or the football on television.

Phillies might be a little far from your thoughts, and I think that's okay too.

We could sit here and talk about what we're thankful for about the Phillies.

We could kick that old content machine until it starts whirring again.

We could reminisce about times gone by.

Hey, did you know that on this day in 1995, the fanatic was forced to pay a 72-year-old man

hundreds of thousands of dollars for hugging him too hard? One Scottish newspaper reporting

on the incident, which had actually occurred four years earlier in 1991,

referred to the fanatic as a, quote,

person dressed in a green costume of an animated shag rug.

So that's how we are understood by our neighbors across the pond.

We could read the latest rumors about Alec Bohm and Ranger Suarez about what

trades may come to pass. We could figure out how they're going to get Garrett Crochet from the

White Sox. We could chart out a plan for the Phillies to sign Tyler O'Neill and bring back
