The Phillies trade for an outfielder.

We knew they were going to get somebody at some point here before Tuesday's

trade deadline. And on Friday, the Phillies announced that they made a good old-fashioned baseball

trade involving all big league players, no prospects in the deal, as the Phillies are going to get

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hayes in exchange for reliever Sir Anthony Dominguez and outfielder Christian Pache.

This is, again, one of the, they used to see trades like this all the time, kind of cool to see two teams with a surplus.

The Orioles have a surplus of outfielders.

Austin Hayes was a part-time player in Baltimore because they just had so many different

options that they could go to and are looking to unload some of these outfielders because

they have even more in the pipeline, but they have a real need in the bullpen. Craig Kimbrell in

the game on Friday night gave up a two-run, home run, trying to hold on to a four-four tie. So Craig Kimberle continuing

to do Craig Kimbril things. You can set your watch to it at this time of year. And now Sir Anthony

Dominguez will be heading over to Baltimore along with Christian Pache. The Phillies get Austin Hayes.

Let's focus on the Phillies portion of this to start things off and learn a little bit more about Austin Hayes.
