Here we are in the dead of early winter, the cold rain soaking the eastern seaboard as we prepare

for a cold, dark winter.

But the winter meetings also are on the horizon, which means a more lively hot stove.

Right now, it's been largely a simmer.

We're going to talk about a few things, but other than Aaron Nola resigning with the

Phillies, a couple of bench players being secured for the 2024 season, as well as some

minor league dealings, there really hasn't been a whole lot of steamy offseason content to discuss.

I think that may change at the winter meetings.

What do you think?

I definitely think it will.

I wrote a primer on the winter meetings that's up on sports.

com slash MLB, where I say it's very likely that there will be something that happens,

whether it's a trade or a big signing. But it feels like there's, it feels like there's no chance

that this is one of those winter meetings where a bunch of dudes and like five women get

together for four days and then leave when nothing happens?
