Some Phillies Rule 5 moves. They made a couple of trades this week and left one of their

better prospects unprotected in the Rule 5 draft. And are the Phillies the team in Major League

Baseball that needs to win a title the most. MLB.com ranked those teams,

and I'll tell you where the Phillies finished in that list as well. So we're doing all that

here on this episode of hit and season. But let's jump right into the hot stove rumors. And as

expected, Aaron Nola rejected the Phillies qualifying offer. In fact, all of the free agents who were made a qualifying offer have rejected them.

The qualifying offer was a one-year $20.35 million contract. And hey, listen, that's a good deal of money.

But we all know Aaron Nola is going to get a whole lot more than that here in free agency.

If Nola does sign with another team, rejecting that qualifying offer means that the Phillies

will receive a compensatory pick following the fourth round of this year's draft.

And so Aaron Nola turned down the qualifying offer, as did Blake Snell, who won his second

Cy Young Award on Wednesday.
