political system that occasionally produces elections that are close, that are tightly fought,

that are narrowly divided, where great issues are raised and great issues are somehow resolved.

well, to George Washington, he was elected without opposition to two terms.

But in modern political history, there are only four times where it has been so decisive that it's almost a clean sweep. Where you look at those electoral maps, one side wins everything. And the most

unlikely winner of such a landslide was surely Richard Nixon.
