Summary

Amazon plans to buy movie studio MGM for $8.45 billion, which would give the tech company a huge library of movies, shows, and franchises including the James Bond series. 1:08.0	Wow, several outlets reported that this is about 40% more than what other companies kicking their tires thought the old Hollywood studio was worth.

1:21.0	Those companies included Comcast and Apple apparently though.
1:24.0	Now, Amazon is going to own a library of content from MGM, including an estimated 4,000 movies and 17,000 hours of TV, which means that they are going to try to rope in more Amazon Prime subscribers and try to compete with the other streamers.
1:37.0	The biggest getter, I guess, one that got the most attention about half of the James Bond series shout out to the first person who tweeted no Mr Bond, I expect you to prime.
1:47.0	Goodness, well, you know, I'm not saying that the Maryland and Roe movies are more important, but I kind of am.

1:55.0	That is very true. Well, there are other movies like the Maryland Monroe movies.

2:04.0	But maybe the more wild part honestly is the TV side of things. So if you've gotten totally lost in all these monopolistic acquisitions like I have, you might have missed the years back MGM actually acquired Mark Burnett's production company.
