Today is going to be a little bit of a fun one, guys. It's just me. And today we are going to be

talking about some of the most famous mercenaries in the world.

There's a whole series of these different things that I would love to cover with different types of soldiers, battles, sieges, all different kinds of things, because I know that everyone loves it.

And today in particular, we are going to be talking about the Lanshnecks.

Yes, this is going to be a very fun one. So if anyone is not familiar

with what this is, and we're just going to kind of jump right into this, especially since

just me, and I know exactly what happens when I go off on tangents about all these things,

if you go back into the meaning of Lanshnacht, if you don't know what that is, the origin

of it is that it possibly means something along the lines of Servanschnect, if you don't know what that is. The origin of it is that it

possibly means something along the lines of Servant of the Land. And when you were talking about

a Lanschnect, what that is, is it generally is speaking about a German foot soldier, mostly

in this case, Pikeman, which would have been around in the late 15th or going into the mid 16th century,

who were mercenaries.

That's the gist of it.

If you had a lanchnecht, that was a mercenary.
