Hello and welcome to the first episode of the history of Armenia.

I guess I owe you something of an introduction here.

My focus hours of my time and effort researching and why should you spend your time listening

to the history of a small country that maybe you can't locate on a map full of people

that you've simply never heard of.

The simple answer to this is, I am Armenian, but you probably already knew that.

The long drawn out answer, I'll give you, isn't that easy though.

In a 3,000 year history, the Armenians have rarely played the role of a aggressor or conqueror.

Rather, they have excelled in agriculture, arts, crafts, and trades.

They have produced unique monuments, sculptures, literature, and legal tracks.

Armenians, because of their placement and participation in trade,

have influenced culture and scientific developments in both the East and the West.

Armenians butt up alongside the Titans of history, like the Assyrians, the Hittites,

the Babylonians, the Mongols, the Persians, and the Romans.

Armenians fought them, they beat them, they allied with them, and were taken over by them.

In one case, eventually became the emperor of one of them.

Armenia is one of the few small nations and small people to have managed to survive repeated

invasions, destruction, and persecutions with their culture, language, and identity intact.

Over the centuries, Armenians have been described as adaptable, resilient,

enterprising, and steadfast.

So why and how has this race, the small tribe of unimportant people,

continued to survive when so many larger and more powerful states have come and gone over
