We'll take a look at the Jaylen Brown contract, yeah it's huge, but maybe there's a reason

why we need to look at the contract a little differently.

I know the Kobe quotes that were going around, I have a Celtic story that I want to ask

to go about, about them not drafting him and then of course his talent versus the resume.

I want to start with Jaylen Brown, we didn't do it earlier in the week when it came out

because we were taping and I, with a contract, especially one this big, the largest NBA

history, I want to be able to go through it, spend a little time on it and since there's

no real other headline for this, I'm going to go ahead and do it, although congrats

Aaron Rodgers.

So look, if you read the headline, you go five years, three and a four million for Jaylen

Brown, which is the highest contract in NBA history, you go, wait, what?

A deal is going to pay him $70 million in $28.29 and if you ask that question, if you

go, well does that make sense?

I think a lot of you would say no and I get it.

If you're in the Celtics front office and you're debating what to do on this extension,

you've probably been talking about it for like a year and a half and you go, do we want

to sign Jaylen Brown to a deal that pays him more than anybody else in NBA history?

Now, if you're in the front office and you're trying to figure this out, going into July,

that's not really the fair question, it's not the right question.

The right question is if we don't do this, what are the alternatives?
