Congress is proposing the largest cuts in history to Medicaid and food stamps slashing the

already frail public safety net in the United States. This would pull access to health care

and basic food necessities from people, as well as hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies

to the economy, even as reports are showing a coming global economic crisis.

We need a new system. We need a new system.

We need a new society.

We need to demand that which may have sounded impossible even a few weeks ago,

but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity. We are very excited to have Professor Richard Wolfe join us for a regular weekly segment

Richard, as I said in the introduction, the huge cuts to Medicaid and food stamp cuts that are on the table from the quote-unquote big beautiful bill that has passed the house would leave at least 8.6 million people without

access to health care and millions more at risk in the coming years. The work requirements that

are included in the bill require working 80 hours over a month for Medicaid and expand those

same existing work requirements for food stamps. Rapaligans are saying this will cut fraud,

waste, and abuse,
