Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Sometimes we face situations that bring anxiety and fear, real situations, things that cause us pain

physically or emotionally. What is God's response to these situations? We will see this as we

look at a story in Acts chapter 18. Great things were happening as Paul preached the gospel in

Corinth, but there were also great dangers.

Let's now join Pastor John for our teaching, and hear what God has to say about these dangers

and this situation.

Acts 18, verse 8, and Christus, the chief ruler of the synagogue believed on the Lord with all of his house and

many of the Corinthians hearing believed and were baptized then verse 9 spake the Lord to

Paul in the night by a vision be not afraid but speak and hold not thy peace, for I am with thee,

and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee, for I have much people in this city.

So Paul continued there a year and six months teaching the Word of God among them.

You have heard the phrase, no pain, no gain. And that may be true. No pain, no gain. But it is equally true that with gain comes great pain.
