Okay, this week I am actually coming to you right now from the Canadian Center for Caregiving Excellence Caregiving Summit in Ottawa, which is kind of perfect timing for this episode, because this week we are joined by a couple, Casey and her husband Thomas, and they're a couple of just

absolute champions at getting dealt a shit hand in life twice.

At first, Thomas had his kidneys, which completely pieced out.

And Casey, his wife, had become his caregiver while he waited for a kidney transplant,

which he got from his childhood golden eye buddy,

which is, you know, that's a fucking legend.

But then, you know, fast forward, life goes on as things get back to normal.

Casey then finds a lump.

And now she has breast cancer. And the roles are completely

flipped. So this week we sit down with both Casey and Thomas. We talk about the chemo slog. We talk

about the weird guilt of the cancer ward. And how you stay a team when life just does not give you a break as a couple.

And I think that conversation, again, is really fitting, considering that right now I am at the Caregiving Summit here in Ottawa, where a lot of discussion and conversation is happening here around the

push for a national caregiving strategy for Canada.
