There are several reasons why paranormal activity may escalate in a location.

Some of the structures in the area had been restored a few years earlier.

One of these was the Lucas Tavern, which became the Historic District's Welcome Center.

The Lucas Tavern has a long history going all the way back to 1820 when Walter and Eliza Lucas opened its doors to offer travelers a comfortable place to sleep and get some good home cooking, and they continued to run the tavern until 1842.

The tavern was renovated in 1979 and became the visitor center the following year.

After the remodel, employees and guests started to fill Eliza's presence.
