Poltergeist cases have been cited almost since the beginning of recorded history.

The word Poltergeist is German and it loosely translates to a noisy ghost.

A poltergeist refers to phenomena usually credited to mischievous spirits or ghost that are

characterized by psychoknesis or even other physical manifestations.

Although ghosts may be sometimes involved, most poltergeist incidents are kind of a psychic

phenomena, usually centered around a living agent. In most cases, this

living agent is actually a young girl going through puberty. This is usually combined

with going through a turbulent time in her life, such as possibly a divorce.

And that may be the case with today's subject, Juanette McNeil Oh, I'm going to In 1948 a disturbed teenager named Juanette McNeil moved in with her father.

This was shortly after her parents divorced.

They moved to a farm west of Macomb, Illinois, and Juanette was very unhappy living there.

Her emotions were all over the place because of the bitter divorce, and she began to manifest

strange poltergeist activity in the form of small fires that she set with her mind all over the farm.

The first fire happened on August 7th on the farm of a man named Charles Willie at the time the residents of the farm

included Willie his wife his brother-in-law and one of its brother Arthur McNeil and McNeil's two children Arthur Jr. who was eight and one

that who had just recently turned 13. The very first fire began not as a blaze

but as a small brown spot that appeared on the

wallpaper in the living room the Willie's farmhouse. That first spot was

followed by another and then another brown spot. The spots would appear, spread out several inches as they

smoldered, and then when they became hot enough, the spots burst into flames.

Neighbors had to be called upon to come by the house and put out daily fires.
