Incoming freshmen are quickly told the legend of Vera. Her scandalous love affair, her suicide, and the fire that was the result of her body dangling from a noose knocking overlighted candles.

Most of the people who know the legend also felt that they knew the identity of the spirit.

This legend was told generation after generation.
