has spent five decades now in public service as an advocate and attorney, the first lady,

a United States senator, the secretary of state of the United States, and a presidential candidate.

Today we are talking to Hillary Rodham Clinton, and it was my absolute privilege to sit down

and speak with her and pick her big incredible brain. Hillary is a champion of human rights,

democracy, and opportunities for women and girls here at home and around the world. She has

spent her entire life fighting for equal rights and paving the way for future generations of women to

come. Born in Chicago, where she began canvassing the south side at the young age of 13 in 1960,

she participated in student council in her high school and seemed destined to be on a path to

greatness. That proved to be true when she would eventually become the first lady, and then a New

York State senator, then secretary of state to president Obama, and then the very first woman

ever to be nominated for president of the United States for a major political party. Hillary won

the popular vote with 66 million American votes, but as we all know, did not win the presidency due

to the electoral college vote. It was certainly not the outcome that I wanted, but many of us wanted,

but Hillary's perspective on it has been nothing short of incredible.
