I have to say there are few textiles in the history of dress that have been tamed and reclaimed as has the Scottish tartan.

And while considered by many as quote-unquote traditional today, don't be surprised listeners.

And we are so pleased that one of the world's leading scholars on the topic, Dr. Rosie Wayne, joins us today to discuss her new book, Highland Style,

Fashioning Highland Dress, Circa 1745 to 1845.

Dr. Wayne is the William Grant Foundation Research Fellow at the National Museum, Scotland in Edinburgh,

and a specialist in the history of Scottish and in particular Highland Dress.
