Welcome to the Roadwire Fantasy Baseball podcast brought to you by fan tracks. I'm your host James

0:06.0

Anderson and today I've got my buddy Mark Winneker. We're going to talk auctions and I know we talked

0:14.8

auctions last week but it's that time of year. Auctions are so much fun. And Mark is a much more seasoned auction player

0:23.4

than I am. We're going to go through some of the auctions he's already completed, what he was

0:29.4

looking to do in those and how it all turned out. And then he's going to kind of go over my big

0:35.3

option that I completed. And we'll talk about some areas where I maybe went

0:40.3

wrong and could have made some better decisions. But first, Mark, since like I said,

0:46.7

you're a seasoned auction player. Why don't you give the people an idea of just kind of how many

0:51.0

NFBC auctions you've done in your life.

0:55.7

Hey, James.

0:57.7

I really appreciate you having me back on.

1:03.6

1:09.3

And I really miss those,

1:10.6

but it's gotten so much tougher with the way the

1:15.7

teams, you know, deploy their personnel now to make those really viable, at least for me,

1:20.8

as far as the amount of work. But interesting story, back in 2015, before the NFBC had

1:27.3

software of their own for auctions, we would auction on

1:31.7

RT Sports and then they would have to move all the results over to the NFBC platform.

1:39.1

And Todd Zola and Andy Saxon used to coordinate and facilitate those.

1:43.4

We would actually do the seven-round

1:45.9

reserve draft via email. So that just tells you how far the NFPC has come with their software,

1:52.8

and now it's all in one spot and much easier, and I don't have to bug Zola to tell people to pick their 27th round pick.
