Summary

Robert's flying solo in his studio this week and has a great time on his lonesome discussing some emerging news. Hyundai's EV sales are through the roof, which might have been helped by the Ioniq 5. Apple have started making autonomous cars and have hired everyone and their mum to get one on the road by 2025. Plus, there's micro rants about a recent Dispatches episode in there for good measure and more.

I just want to quickly say before I start, before we hear from our sponsor, who, you know,

0:46.6

without who this show wouldn't be going, I just want to make a couple of quick announcements

0:50.3

about what we're doing in the sort of spring, winter and spring of 2022, and that is

0:57.3

two live shows, one in Amsterdam in March and one in Farnborough in April.

And the Amsterdam show, we're just very excited about, it's the first time we've done

1:09.1

anything in Europe, it's going to be really exciting.

1:11.9

When I say Europe, I do mean mainland Europe, geographically speaking, not talking politics,

1:17.8

just where it is on the map, because we're in Europe, whether we like it or not, we are

1:25.0

part of Europe.

1:26.5

We are European, you just have to accept that, but that's another whole discussion, not

1:32.6

what I'm here for today, but in Amsterdam, very excited, it's being run by an amazing

1:37.4

Dutch team, so it's very relevant to the Dutch, German, Belgian, Danish, I'm just thinking

1:43.7

all those surrounding areas, I was going to be really exciting and here's a little clue.

1:49.6

Exhibition is at the right, R-I-R-A-I exhibition center, huge place in the middle of Amsterdam,

1:56.3

it's right next to a very big canal basin, which means there's things could float on that,

2:01.2

doesn't it? I don't know what I wouldn't want to say what those things might be, because I want

2:06.6

that to be a surprise, but there could be some really exciting things on display there that one

2:12.2

might not expect at a show that was primarily started 11 years ago to focus on electric

2:17.9

motor vehicles, but my goodness, have things moved on since then.
