James 517 tells us that Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are.

He lived and served God under a wicked king, and yet, in spite of the wickedness around him,

he was a man who not only walked with

God he had the power of God on his life in this study a man like us in times like

Do you ever just want to hide? I mean literally, just stick your head in the ground and imagine

that things are better or go to your house and lock yourself in it, just get away from people,

block out all the noise and all the news. I think all of us feel that way from time to time.

Well, I want you to know that there are times to hide yourself.

Now, when we say hide yourself, we're not talking about simply

drawing into yourself. We're talking about drawing near to God. Remember God's great promise,

when you live by the brook you get to be alone with God remember that the word Cherath means to cut off or to cast away.

The idea is separation to the Lord.

God was not punishing Elijah.

He was meeting him there.

He was drawing him closer to himself.
