| 0:04.4 | All right, everybody. Welcome to the ninth edition of Hillbilly Horror Stories. I am super |
| 0:09.6 | excited because Ricky's not here. I'm just kidding. He's not here, but that's not why I'm excited. |
| 0:14.1 | I'm excited because we're going to finally do some music, which is like one of my favorite |
| 0:20.2 | things to talk about, especially when you add |
| 0:21.9 | the occult into it. I didn't mention that Ricky's not going to be here, so I have a special |
| 0:26.5 | surprise, beautiful co-host, my wife, Tracy. |
| 0:29.3 | Hey, everybody. We're going to have some fun tonight. I can't wait to even. This could really be |
| 0:35.2 | like a two-hour show, and it may be something that if you guys like it |
| 0:38.6 | and send us some feedback, we may end up doing like one show a month that's nothing but music, and we can feature a different artist or something, because you'll see once we go through this, it's a really quick run-through, and there's so many details. Each one of these stories could be a show of their own, but we're going to get through about four of them tonight. |
| 0:54.2 | Sounds good. |
| 0:55.0 | I'm excited. |
| 0:56.0 | What we're going to talk about first is an author by name of Argarie Patterson. Now, R. Gary Patterson, I would advise everybody to look him up and read his books. He's got two books, especially on Rock and Roll. He's a Rock and Roll historian. But he's got one called Take a Walk on a Dark Side, Rock and Roll, Miss Legends, really good book, and he's got another one called Hellhounds on our Trail. Now, you may not know this guy's name right off the bat, but you will know something he's came up with. Most of you, I'm sure, have heard of the 27 Club. Yes, I've heard of that. Well, what happened was back in 1998. He was writing this book, |
| 1:30.2 | Hillhounds on our trail, so he starts writing about Robert Johnson, who we're getting ready to talk |
| 1:33.8 | about. He died at 27, then Janice Joplin, then Jimmy Hendricks, then Brian Taylor from the |
| 1:40.7 | Rolling Stones, and then Jim Morrison. Well, when he started putting all these together, he realizes they're all 27 years old. |
| 1:47.4 | So he did a special on VH1 and what have you. |
| 1:49.4 | So the 27 club that everybody's heard about, he's the one that actually came up with that. |
| 1:54.0 | Wow, that's so interesting. |
| 1:55.5 | You know, just to know that all those people died at the age of 27, it's really, I'm waiting |
| 2:00.0 | to see what all he gets into with |
| 2:02.0 | this book, because he's got a couple of good books out. He's very informative. Let's get started and talk about it. Well, like I said, you know, even since the time he's came out of the book, you've had Kurt Cobain, you've had Amy Winehouse and a bunch of other ones. So yeah, that's something that's not going away anyway soon, but let's talk about Robert Johnson, |
