Tracy, today's story involves the Portuguese Air Force.

Alright, don't know the thing about it.

Well, oddly enough, I know very little about the Portuguese Air Force myself.

So let's go to September 4th, 1957.

There was a squadron of F-84 Thunder Jets that belonged to the Portuguese Air Force.

It was nighttime and they were going to go, the planes were going to go airborne for a routine navigational practice mission.

Alright, sounds cool so far.

That's when they had a 40-minute encounter with an unidentified flying object.

So it was a very cool night and it was a very bright full moon.

So visibility was excellent.

This mission consisted of four palates.

There were Sargent, Alberto, Kovas, Manuel, Marcelino, Salvador, Alavira, and Captain Joe, for Rira.

It took a while to get all those down.

The crew reached Granada.

This was about 8 o'clock.
