In December, we shared her Jamie Ivey Show interview that originally aired on YouTube in February of 2021, but today is her official Happy Hour debut! Morolake Akinosun is a professional track runner, Olympic Gold medalist, and most recently an Emmy Award winner for her work on Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man! We chatted about where we were on March 13th, 2020 and her recent move to LA! She also opened up about training for the Tokyo Olympics and the disappointment of not getting a spot on the Olympic team. We’ve all had a dream that didn’t happen, and it takes time to grieve the loss of that dream. But I love when she shared that while failures don’t define us, neither do our successes. 0:30.9	My friend Morlake Akenison is back on the show and listen, she was just here in December.
0:35.4	So you're like, Jamie, why is she back so soon after December?
0:39.1	Well, I'll tell you this.
0:40.5	In December, we aired some audio from a lot of our videos at released earlier in 2021.
0:46.0	So Morlake was actually our very first guest on the Jamie Ivy show and it aired on YouTube
0:51.3	last February of 2021.
0:53.1	So almost a year ago and that interview was so much fun and so important.
0:57.1	And we aired it in December and now we wanted to have a follow up because if you listened
1:00.7	in December or if you watched the interview on YouTube, Morlake at that time was planning
1:05.6	and training to participate in the Olympics this past summer.
1:08.6	It was the 2020 Olympics that were actually postponed until 2021 and Morlake did not
1:14.1	make the final.
1:15.1	She did not make the American Olympic team.
1:17.3	And so I thought what a better way than to finish up that conversation was to come back
